Instagram down...I start a BLOG

Hi….Instagram went down again today just as i was trying to add a new post. That got me thinking that now is the time to get this blog started. So here is what I was trying to share today and I hope you will connect here so we can keep in touch!

I’ve nearly finished this piece! I’ve learned that feedback is important to completing a series of works as I’m getting ready to release these pieces from my studio into the world. As it’s a process, the beginnings are usually kept to myself as I work through elements, design and techniques. I’ve been changing that up recently and making video clips of my process. As I grow through the making, confidence and a doubt take turns visiting. The last push to complete the works and let them go can be a struggle. Listening to the words others use about my art can lend support, confirmation and even surprise.

It was a surprise to hear this series called “Jewels of Nature” by an artist friend. Especially as I had already given some of the pieces titles after gemstones, such as Carnelian, Turquoise, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Sapphire, Cerulean and more. I have hopes of completing the final touches this week and then the photography phase begins to get great images for here on my website. Please comment and keep in touch here!
